Projects

We've been involved in a wide range of projects across a number of sectors, explore a selection below:

Cath Labs

Features

  • Fire dampers
  • Air supply & extract
  • Noise limiting attenuators
  • Volume control dampers
  • Galvanised sheet steel construction

The Ventilation system we installed here is an extension of the existing Roof mounted Air Handling Plant, the ductwork installed is galvanised sheet steel or “spiral” construction and manufactured and installed to DW144 low pressure class. This drops down the main service riser and has both supply air and extract air ducting runs to all areas. The extract system is connected to a series of ceiling grilles.

We provided the Sub-Drill workshop with a mechanical supply and extract ventilation system comprising of a Daikin air handling unit and galvanised sheet steel (GSS) spiral wound ductwork. The system has been thermally insulated to maximise energy efficiency and is fitted with opposed blade volume control dampers to enable the system to be balanced.

Sub-Drill

Features

  • Daikin air handling unit
  • GSS spiral wound ductwork
  • Thermal insulation throughout
  • Blade volume control dampers
  • Supply & extract

Knowehead Bothy

Brief

  • Capture and utilise exhaust heat
  • Low energy ventilation unit
  • Increase energy efficiency
  • Discreet supply & extract valves

Here we installed a domestic heat recovery system, which is used to reduce the heating and cooling demands of a building. Heat recovery systems typically recover about 60–95% of the heat in exhaust air and have significantly improved the energy efficiency of buildings. We were asked to design a bespoke system for a new build house in the countryside of Aberdeenshire.

At this development we provided local extract ventilation to communal areas along with each apartment. We installed dedicated Vent Axia Multivent extract units with cooker hoods, located within each kitchen area. All room air is ducted through the system, before discharging through external wall mounted vents.

Triple Kirks

Features

  • Galvanised sheet steel
  • Fire dampers
  • Fresh air inlets
  • Studio & kitchen extract
  • Heat recovery

Northfield Nursery

Features

  • Nursery supply & extract
  • Heat exchanger
  • Ceiling mounted diffusers
  • Local extract ventilation
  • Acoustic silencers

These mechanical ventilation systems have all been installed using galvanised sheet steel (GSS) spiral wound ductwork and all systems incorporating heat recovery have been thermally insulated to maximise energy efficiency. All ducted systems are fitted with opposed blade volume control dampers to enable the system to be balanced as well as fire dampers/access doors at each fire compartment.

Equinur

Features

  • Fire dampers
  • Air supply & extract
  • Noise limiting attenuators
  • Volume control dampers

Ashtead

Brief

  • Operatives grinding harmful metals
  • Extraction required for safety
  • Maintain as much working space as possible
  • Ensuring clean internal air

Metal working process-such as welding & grinding releases a wide range of hazardous airborne contaminates which must be removed from operators breathing zone to ensure their protection. TKM offer a bespoke extraction system to ensure the safe and efficient removal of these airborne pollutants within the work place and within the client’s budget.

We installed mechanical extract ventilation in the enclosed plant areas within the Headworks to remove hazardous methane gases via two Halifax belt driven centrifugal fans located within fan room.

We routed PVC ductwork at mid-level within the plantroom with ductwork branches connecting to the enclosed plant areas. We fitted each ductwork branch with a volume control damper to enable the system to be balanced.

Kelda Water

Features

  • Hazardous gas ducting
  • Odour control system
  • Dedicated control panel
  • PVC ductwork
  • Volume control damper

Tillydrone Nursery

Features

  • Nursery supply & extract
  • Diffusers in every room
  • Filter installation
  • Acoustic silencers
  • Heat recovery

We were appointed the ventilation contractor for Tillydrone Nursery, which consisted of a heat recovery ventilation system and two extraction systems – all installed in roof space.

Fresh supply air is introduced to the unit and works alongside a heat recovery unit to increase efficiency.
